ETF Sector Charts is a selection of charts, comparing last year’s prices to this year’s. The charts are intended to give you a quick view of the relative strength of a few key asset classes, sectors, and industries.
Having an awareness of how these market sectors are behaving this year, relative to last year, is good information for an investor to have. It only takes a few minutes to scan the charts.
For example, if an asset class or market sector is moving sharply higher this year, it will be a hot topic in the financial press. But that information alone is inadequate. By comparing this year to last year, an investor may discover that the asset was weak last year. This would trigger further research to find out whether the current strength is simply an oversold bounce, or possibly a new bull market.
In other words, ETF Sector Charts provide context and depth to recent price behavior.
