Build Your Killer Portfolio

With a little work up front your portfolio will shift into a higher gear.

You'll never have to depend on someone else to tell you what to do.

You'll end up with a home-grown portfolio you can be proud of.

Why This Course is So Valuable...

  • 1
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME A COURSE LIKE THIS HAS EVER BEEN AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
There are hundreds of investing courses out there but none of them offer unbiased, step-by-step guidance for building a killer portfolio. This one does.
  • 2
WHY AM I OFFERING THIS MUCH VALUE FOR SUCH A LOW PRICE
Because I can reach a larger audience.
  • 3
WHEN YOU TAKE THE COURSE YOU WILL MAKE MORE MONEY AND SAVE LOTS OF TIME
I often tell clients that time is more important than money. Money can be replaced but time can't. We're all given a fixed amount of time in life, and the more time you spend fiddling with your off-the-rack portfolio, the less you have to spend on the really important stuff like family, friendships, travel, entertainment and so on.

Why take a course that teaches you what you already know?

You already have a portfolio. Why take a course to learn how to build one? I can think of a few reasons.

  • Your current portfolio is probably not the best you can do.
  • You may have a collection of securities that don’t fit well together.
  • You might be too heavy in some asset classes and not heavy enough in others.
  • You might have too many holdings, or too few.
  • You could be holding on to something that you should have sold long ago.
  • You might be taking too much risk, or not enough risk.
  • You could be over-paying for fees & other investment expenses.

What's the Upside for taking this course?

The course will pay for itself... many times over.

If you are working with an adviser, you are probably paying an annual fee of about 1%, give or take. That might seem insignificant but it’s not. When you consider that the long-term average real return from investing in the stock market is about 7%, paying a fee of 1% means that you are giving up 14% of your profits each and every year.

Even worse, when you have a down year, you are still on the hook for the full fee your adviser charges because it’s based on the size of your account, rather than the performance of your account. That’s just adding insult to injury. If you’re a DIY investor, you’ve eliminated the fee problem but not the expense problem.

Are you sure that your fund expenses and trading costs are as low as they could be? Vanguard’s John Bogle, the man who invented low-cost index fund investing, correctly pointed out that the compounding effect of investment expenses could rob an investor of 50% (or more) of their account value over the long term. For most investors that means this course can pay for itself after the first year, just on the basis of lower costs alone. The gains from better performance are another matter entirely.

The course will show you how to eliminate imbalances and inefficiencies.

Studies have shown that the most important decision investors will make when designing their portfolios is the way they spread their funds across various asset classes like stocks, bonds, gold, cash, etc. (See the groundbreaking study by Brinson, Singer, and Beebower here.)

Other decisions like security selection and market timing are also important, but less so than asset allocation in the portfolio design process. The good news for subscribers of this course is that you can easily learn how to allocate your funds in a way that will be highly effective in getting you to your objectives in the least amount of time. This is the essence of a Killer portfolio.

This course will boost your returns by showing you how to monitor and adjust your portfolio’s asset mix, based on rules and parameters designed by you, and for you.

One of the most costly mistakes investors make is waiting too long to react to major changes in market direction. Not the daily or monthly swings but the fundamental shifts from bull markets to bear markets. This course will show you how to set up trading rules based on price parameters, so you can take most of the guesswork and emotion out of the process.

Course Outline

4 Modules that will will help you reach your objectives faster and safer

Module 1 - Mindset

Duration: 30 minutes

Investing at a high level can be simple, but it's not easy. Most of the heavy lifting is done up front, and after that it becomes a matter of following your plan through good markets and bad. That requires mental and emotional toughness, organization, and discipline.

Module 2 - Building your foundation

Duration: 45 minutes

For a portfolio to be truly powerful it must be built on a solid foundation. What’s a solid foundation? It’s a set of rules and parameters that will guide your decision-making going forward, so you don’t have to wonder about what to do next.

Module 3 - Step-by-Step Design

Duration: 1 hour

There are more than 50 recognized asset classes to choose from. That’s too many. This module will show you how to winnow down this list to just the ones that are relevant for what you are trying to accomplish.

Module 4 - Maintaining Peak Performance

Duration: 45 minutes

Your new killer portfolio needs tending, like a garden. 1 hour at the end of every year is sufficient. 30 minutes at the end of each quarter works too. 15 minutes at the end of every month is as active as you'll ever need to be.

Quizzes

Duration: 45 minutes

There are proficiency quizzes at the end of each module. They tell you whether or not you're ready to move on to the next module. They're both instructional and fun.

Final Exam

Duration: 30 minutes

The final exam is optional. It's an essay, written by you, that summarizes what you learned, and how you can use it in real life. Erik will respond personally to each essay.

What Students Are Saying...

I BOUNCED FROM ONE COURSE TO ANOTHER BEFORE I FIGURED OUT THAT MOST OF THEM ARE REALLY JUST BRAND MARKETING

Most courses I've taken are variations of the Buy & Hold philosophy. That's not what I want. What I want is a strategy that works for me, rather than the "average" investor. This course delivered as promised.

I'VE WASTED LOTS OF MONEY ON COURSES THAT DIDN'T LIVE UP TO THE HYPE. THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT, AND I'M SO GLAD I TOOK IT.

This course begins and ends with the information that's important to me. There's very little fluff or filler like I've gotten from other courses. It gets down to business right away and allows you to skip the stuff you already know. That saved me a lot of time and effort.

THIS IS A SERIOUS COURSE. BETTER BRING YOUR A-GAME

This course challenged me in ways I haven't seen before. It can be tough at times but the module quizzes are great for knowing if you're ready to move on. I ended up re-taking a few of the lessons until I though I was ready to move on.
