We will look at three categories: Indexes, Industry Groups, and finally Individual Stocks.
There are some clear themes at work for investors, like spending on infrastructure and the military, deregulation, and the implications of a possible trade war. Rising interest rates are another factor, although we can’t really attribute that to Trump.
One thing seems clear, at least to me. Investors by and large are optimistic about the possibilities for economic growth and higher corporate earnings under the Trump administration. Whether he will be able to get his agenda through the tight-fisted Republican Congress is another matter.
